How Did My First Day Go? By Lucy Partin

Hello, fellow sophomores let me just enlighten you about my first day of sophomore year. You see the night before it took me forever to pick out an outfit because I wanted to wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt or not come at all but my friends were all dressing nice so I felt inclined to dress nicely as well. Well, you see my nice is a white t-shirt, blue ripped jeans, and a sweater. And yes the sweater was needed because no matter the weather outside the school will always be fifty degrees.
Anyways I get to school and I feel like I'm in the movie Groundhog Day because I swear it's like my life is on a loop. I was sitting on the same floor, in the same spot as I did only two months ago. After a few minutes I slumped to homeroom and then my first period, which if you were wondering is not at all interesting, just ask Gabby C. But the rest of my morning classes weren't as bad and the afternoon went by at a relatively...slow pace. You see after my favorite subject, lunch, I went to gym class or "drivers ed" and then choir. If anyone is wondering choir is so much fun and I love everyone in that class. But anywho after that, I went to my science period. It went by as usual. I sat down and saved a seat for one of my besties but, as you can guess we got our seats moved across the room away from each other in a matter of seconds.
Last I had culinary which would be a great class if I had many friends in that class with me. But I think I can sacrifice because I will be making a LOT of COOKIES. Then I went home. Sike I had a three-hour practice after my long day. But after practice was over you can guess that I went home, ate some cereal, and took a long nap. That sleep lasted until 6:00 am when my annoying alarm clock woke me up for the second day. So I got up and redid everything I did yesterday. It's just like a Groundhog day am I right.

  1. I get this feeling, school can feel very repetitive after awhile. It gets especially repetitive in the first few weeks of school because everything still feels the same, and it takes a while to get used to the new school year and everything that comes with it.

  2. I agree school feels like the same thing day after day and it looking back it's just a blur of the same old thing. Also, in the beginning of the day I felt the same thing going to the same homeroom with the same people... it was like a continuation of last year that felt fake and wrong. Now I'm glad that the year has actually started and I am getting used to it.

  3. I can definitely say I feel, or at least felt, the same way as you. Everything is relatively the same as last year, only different teachers and different classes. The same homeroom, the same friends, the same people, the same schedule. It feels like a continuation of our previous year. It doesn't feel like we are in a new one, but we are.

  4. It always feels like we never left!
