the Struggles of a Stressed Student
the Struggles of a Stressed Student By Robby Cerra
I knew to come into this year was going to be time-devouring and difficult, providing me with masses of work and stress I probably couldn't be able to handle, but, I've always been up for the challenge. For instance, instead of boring myself in class and drawing some REALLY good sketches, I would be writing Nobel prize-winning essays (not really 😓). I have always desired more with my academics, and take them upwards, along with my sports right by my side. Although, I didn't know the most daunting test of strength would be to hold back the urge of just, giving up and "hangin' wit da BOYS" and sometimes I'm tempted, but then school work would butt in and say,
Although, in all seriousness, the stress levels and anxiety levels among students, let alone student-athletes is astonishing high. On average, a student's stress level far exceeds the considerable healthy stress levels, beating the stress levels of an adult, (5.8 compared to 5.1 on a scale of 1-10). (5.8 for teenagers and 5.1 for adults). Now some "mind-boggling facts" are actually surprising, like “umop apisdn”, spells upside down, when its upside down. On the contrary, when I read that teenagers are notably more stressed than adults, I don't bat an eye. Furthermore, when I wake up in the morning, my awakening is usually followed with a curse word or a humongous frown on my face. Typically, though, I can get up on time, slam down two shots of espresso, and head off to school to turn in homework that I was flipping tables about all night, and still probably didn't do it right...
Hope you find ways to ease your stress!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel with the stress of school and sports. It will all work out in the end.
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised that teens are that stressed. There's a reason I take advil everyday
ReplyDeleteThis is very accurate and it doesn't surprise me why we all are so stressed. Between balancing sports and school and spending time with your friends, it is pretty difficult to do that without being tired and stressed out.
