The First Day of School By:Michael Burns
It was six o'clock in the morning when I woke up to the sound of my phone alarm ringing in my ears. I sluggishly rose to my feet and got ready for the first day of tenth grade. As I made my way down the stairs, I was so tired, that I felt like I was carrying one hundred pounds on my back. Next, I got in the car on my way to school wondering how my first day will be. As I made it to school, many questions came to mind. Am I gonna have the same classes as my friends? Will there be more homework than last year? I went upstairs to homeroom as I was greeted by my friends after an extensive summer. The bell then rang and I was on my way to my first period class, AP Biology. When I walked in, I was intimidated by the fact that it was an AP course and that the teacher warned us about the class being extremely fast and rigorous. Once, lunchtime came around, I searched around the cafeteria to try to find where my friends were sitting this year. When I found where we will be sitting, I happy that I no longer had to sit near the bathrooms and that we now had a new table. At the end of the day, I felt settled in at school and was looking forward to getting to know the rest of my teachers and making more friends in all of my classes.
I hope you have a great year!
