What Gets Me Through High School- By: Alexa Acker

Studying and doing homework till 11:30 PM, waking up at 5:30 AM, sitting through 7 hours of pretty boring classes- then repeating this all over again. I think we can all agree: going to school isn't the most fun thing ever, but I mean it is mandatory in order to have a future. And while school isn't a ton of fun, every single day I look forward to one part; SPORTS.

In the fall I play volleyball, which is probably the most fun sport i've ever played. I love the connection that you build with all of your friends while also getting better at a sport you love. Right now my team is 7-1 and we hope to make it the rest of the season without losing! In the fall I play basketball- while it may be a very tiring and exhausting sport, all of the work is defietly worth it when you're playing. The basketbal coach is Coach Wille who is by far one of the best coaches that I have ever had- she makes practices and games fun while also pushing us to be a better player mentally and physically. In the spring I play softball (my favorite sport) and while we might have not had the best season my freshman year it definetly taught me to become a mentally stronger player, a lesson that I will take with me the rest of highschool and maybe even in college.

Therefore, I encourage all incoming freshman or really anyone in highschool to take part in sports or clubs because while playing you make unbreakable friendships and bonds with people you may have never even talked to. I think sports also relive so much stress that highschoolers face through the course of all 4 years and I would recommend sports/clubs to everyone!

Here's a picture of me and my team about to take on POPE JOHN!!!!!
