Although current events are usually about serious topics, new discoveries, and political issues, there are still funny and odd events that take place in our society today. If you want to laugh or learn about odd events that have recently occurred, I recommend you keep reading.
I would like to start off with something that was recently introduced in Australia. The popular pizza place, Domino's Pizza, is in need of new employees, but not for making or delivering pizzas. They need employees for taste-testing. Yes, you can get paid for eating garlic bread. Employees make $20 an hour tasting and providing feedback on garlic bread and other foods on the Dominos menu. According to Ben Hooper, author of the article, "Domino's job posting seeks 'Cheif Garlic Bread Taster.'" Furthermore, the posting describes the perfect employee. They would need a "minimum of 5 years' in garlic bread consumption," "working tastebuds," "has burned their fingers at least once not being able to wait for the garlic bread to cool down," and "has a detailed understanding of the pizza and garlic bread relationship."
The next event is about a Philippine actor who set the unofficial world record for keeping his eyes open, without blinking. Paolo Ballesteros didn't blink for 1 hour, 17 minutes, and 3 seconds. He was competing against the comedian, Allan K, who reached 34 minutes without blinking. The second best time is 1 hour, 5 minutes, and 11 seconds set by Julio Jaime in 2016.
The last odd event occurred in Ohio. A goat shattered the glass of sliding glass door in a family home. A teenager who lived in the house returned home from school to find her glass door shattered. She cautiously searched the house and found a billy goat taking a nap in the bathroom. Investigators were able to find the goat's owner and turned out the goat had been missing for a few days.
As you can see, odd and hilarious events take place in our world every day. I think it's important to acknowledge these events because it can give you a laugh and show you just how crazy our world is.

          When I contemplate what is most important in my life, my mind is drawn to my 21-year-old brother, Tom. There are not enough words in the English language I could use to describe what he means to me. I cannot imagine the past fifteen years of my life without him. Not Fate, Just a Coincidence - Sila Paniker

The idea of fate confuses me. I don't really understand how something will happen no matter what you do. It just seems very unlikely. I think we're constantly making choices that lead to occurrences. We make so many decisions a day that it seems impossible that fate can find a way around it all.  Awhile ago, I saw something called the Butterfly Effect, which doesn't exactly relate to fate but it makes sense to me. The idea is that a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a tornado on the other side of the world. Essentially, small changes can have large impacts. In my head, this connects with the thousands of tiny decisions we subconsciously make each day. There are people I've met or things that have happened and it feels like it was meant to be but they're just a bunch of coincidences that had the ability to change everything.
