Dogs. What makes them man's best friend. From the dawn of time dogs have almost instantly earned their place in our hearts as the companion to man. While some may argue that dogs aren't as valued in their hearts as cats, domesticated dogs are ultimately flawless. Take it from someone who has both as pets. And while I love my cat with all my heart, today the topic of discussion is dogs. Disregarding the pure breeding done by uneducated breeders, dogs can fit in almost any family. This is the only thing wrong with dogs in our world. The forceful breeding of dogs who are most likely related in order to create a purebread
There is currently a large amount of bias towards certain breeds of dog. One of these more prominant stereotypes is pitbulls. Pitbulls are percieved as the most aggressive and ill mannered dogs in the world. The pit bull apologia would have you believe that they are fighting bred dogs. However, this is not the case. In the 19th and 20th century, pitbulls were known as the Nanny dogs. This name was given because of the amount of love and effection these creatures showed others. It was people who made these dogs into what they are now known for. The point of this story is that dogs are beautiful animals on their own, and that loyalty and friendliness is what made them so compatable with the likes of man. People are the what make these animals into the menaces you see on television or read about in books. Dogs are not born aggressive or born monsters. They are made into them. Think about that next time you see a pitbull or a german shepherd and feel fear.
