Halloween? Postponed?- Jolie Dottinger

October 31st, the one day out of our long 365 day year for children to dress up as a princess, a zombie, a ghost, anyone or thing that could possibly be thought of just to go around say three words, and collect candy for free! Every kid's favorite holiday! A way for children to form their own creative outlet and express their interests and desires. Endless twix, kit-kats, skittles, starbursts, milky ways waiting to be consumed. However, the horror has arrived and captured all the joy this holiday holds.

Out of any possible situation, who would have thought that a holiday could be postponed?

Snow; a pretty sight to see, a tolerable winter event that makes it needed to curl up with some hot chocolate but snow in October? During fall? What is this sorcery?

In Chicago, mother nature is not on their side. Due to snow, Halloween had to be postponed in certain areas. Some places included are:

Beecher

Dwight

Oakwood Hills

Marengo

Ringwood

Johnsburg

Shorewood

Vernon Hills

Westmont

Winnetka

As a kid hyped for one of the most ELITE holidays of the year, my whole world would be shattered. For all of us who were able to enjoy the fun holiday that Halloween is today, let's hope these kids will be able to experience the same once their day to celebrate arrives!
