Chocolate by Hannah Ramos
In class the other day, we were given several creative writing prompts to write about in a short amount of time, one of which was simply 'chocolate.' Once the time came for the class to share our individual views, I was immediately baffled by the responses. Chocolate being my favorite food, I couldn't process the fact that so many of my fellow classmates hated chocolate. Surely, I can agree that white chocolate is pretty disgusting, however, dark chocolate and milk chocolate have done nothing to deserve such disrespect. Chocolate has the ability to make literally anything taste amazing. There's chocolate cake, chocolare icecream, chocolate brownies, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chocolate chip cookies, chocolate syrup, chocolate mouse, chocolate milk, chocolate muffins, chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate cheesecake, chocolate candies, chocolate covered fruit, chocolate covered pretzels, and even chocolate covered bacon. If there isn't a single thing on that list that you wouldn't enjoy I'm truly sorry for you. However, the magic of chocolate doesn't just end at it's delicous taste. It's impossible to go a single holiday without eating atleast one single peice of chocolate, and without chocolate, holidays wouldn't be the same. For christmas, there's mini chocolate santas, and hot cocoa, and countless types of cookies with chocolate in them. For Easter, there's the classic chocolate bunny and those tiny chocolate eggs. Even less relevant holidays like Valentine's day revolve entirely around eating chocolate. So I ask all the chocolate haters out there to look at themselves and think about what they did wrong in life to lead them to hate this extradonary, sweet, and delicous dessert.

I agree!
ReplyDeleteI love chocolate too Hannah. I don't know how people don't like it.
ReplyDeleteChocolate is amazing and no one can change my mind
ReplyDeleteI do like chocolate, but sometimes it can be too rich for me and that's when I don't like it. I LOVE white chocolate, though, even though it's technically not actually chocolate.
