Independent Work Days and Why I love them

Independent Work Days and Why I love them                By Robby Cerra

Independent workdays, the best day of the week, right above independent reading days, of course. Though how can one period of the day brighten up the rest of my day? Firstly, that soft cushy zebra chair that eases my restless body while my mind focuses in on my homework knowing that I'm not even going to attempt to finish it at home. Even when I have no more work due, and my book has been read, I could start on the month's newest assignments or, (Mrs. Kopp please don't read this...) possibly even finish my math homework that should have been done last night... Nonetheless, no matter what I'm doing during Independent workdays, I am loving it. Furthermore, I'm not the only student that loves these kinds of days. From three other students, here are their thoughts on Independent workdays. Anonymous student #1 said, "In my opinion, the independence and freedom granted by these workdays help instill hard-working morals in students and prepare them for a more college-like atmosphere." And student #2 upheld the same premise saying; "They're honestly so fun, I mean like, sometimes I just play games on my computer, but I also work." Following up with, "This is anonymous right?" Finally, the last interviewee noted the lesser stress levels they have, stating that; "Independent workdays help to lessen homework and make students have less stress." Building on these concepts, Independent workdays reduce negative parts in a student's day and in school, not only taking the pain off school but also making school just a little bit relaxed.

  2. I agree with your statement that independent work days and reading days, relieve some of the stress we find at school. Also, I thought it was cool that you interviewed people. Good job!

  4. They are meant as a way to reduce stress and workload and give you some independence. Not to play games though....
