School- By, Brianna Burns

Image result for picture of a high school with hard working students  Even on the days where I feel drained from the workload and the long dreadful nights of studying, I always try to keep in mind that it will all be worth it in the end. As much as I like to complain and despise waking up and heading to school in the morning, when I really reflect, school is something that is very important to me.
In terms of how I see my future going, I definitely want to go to college. Not only is having the college experience something I want to endeavor in my lifetime but I also believe that college is quite vital to have a long, very successful career, despite what others may think. So, in order to achieve my goals for the future, performing well in school is a very important aspect of it. I think that we children (and adults) of the United States are very fortunate to be able to have access to education and being able to learn. This is something that I think many people simply take for granted in their lives. When you truly reflect and think of those in other countries who may frankly have no education at all, that's when you really hold school and being able to learn every day close to your heart. Particularly here at Sparta high school, I feel like there are so many classes offered where you can really find something you're interested in. Another thing that is great is many different levels of classes. So if you need a slower pace or if you are really interested in the higher-level classes you have the ability to take those if you choose.
Many high school students I feel put a lot of pressure on themselves to perform well and to receive good grades, and at the end come to hating school. But if we think of school as a positive environment to learn and grow as an individual, I think school will become far more enjoyable for people and will come to appreciate it much more.

  1. The idea that school is more effective as a tool for personal growth than just getting A's is a significant one; an idea with which I wholeheartedly agree. Thanks for writing about this!

    1. I agree, Ellie! It should be a tool for personal growth - the grades should mean nothing at all!

  2. Great thoughts here! School is a pathway to your future, but you are correct that many of us take it for granted because not only do you get to go to school, you go to a great one. Other kids, even in our own state, do not have the same opportunities that you do.

  3. I definitely agree. School should be a positive learning environment rather than a stressful one. Reading this made me reflect on all of the many things which we take for granted.

  4. I completely agree. I consider myself a person that likes learning but still find myself caving to the pressure of needing to get good grades---pulling late nights to study for that test tomorrow or spending obscene amounts of hours doing schoolwork outside of school---and resenting school because of it.

  5. I agree! As much as I sometimes dread getting on the bus at 6:30am, I have to keep in mind not everyone is privileged like us.
