Soccer's Impact in my life by Nate Miller

Every since I was 4 years old, I have enjoyed playing soccer. When I was a little kid, I learned how much I loved soccer, It was not until I turned 8 that I decided to play soccer at a more competitive level, so I started playing travel soccer. As I continued to get more experience playing travel soccer, I became more and more dedicated to getting better because soccer was one of the biggest parts of my life and I accomplished so many things while playing soccer. Also, I made more friendships playing soccer. Soccer is something that makes me feel like I am at home. Also, when I was having a bad day, playing soccer made me feel better because of the passion I have for it, but also because I will see my best friends. As I got older, my dad taught me to act like a leader because being the best isn't just about your skills, but also your ability to remain calm, even when we're losing. Eventually, I was able to improve my ability to act like a leader. However, going into high school, would prove to be a very big change. When I got into high school, I was playing with a bunch of kids that I had never played soccer with before and I didn't know how good or bad they would be, so it became more difficult to act like a leader when I didn't know what to expect. I also play soccer year round because it is my favorite thing to do. After the fall high school season ends, I start playing with my club soccer team and this is how I stay in shape and improve my skills. Another reason that soccer is important in my life is because it keeps me healthy all year and my family comes to almost all of my games, so we get to spend more time together as a family. I think soccer and my family are easily to of the most important things in my life because I love both and they make me happy. Lastly, I care so much about soccer that I do everything in my power to get better because I hope to be able to play college soccer someday.
