For once some good news! Hayley Ouimette
Right now, the only news I hear of is about all the bad things with the Corona Virus and the new number of cases and deaths and sometimes the weather. I don't know about you but I'm tired of it so I thought I'd share some good news right now, some even relating to those topics. Today, March 29, 2020, its the world's most biodiverse island Madagascar's 60th Birthday receiving a gift of 60 million trees to celebrate. This was its largest tree-planting ceremony ever with a million sees being planted. More science-related, it was just discovered that a complete protein found somewhere on Earth that fell from space, might actually hin at the Planet's origin. This is a huge discovery that we are barely hearing about. On a brighter note about corona, some teenagers in Maryland are going to the grocery store and getting food for seniors and their vulnerable neighbors. Not all news has to be about surrounding this virus. This also includes some middle schoolers who are recording themselves at home, joining together to make a music video against COVID-19. Little things like this is a positive step for younger kids to get involved in whatever way they can to end this pandemic faster. The last story I'm going to talk about corona is that a neighborhood came together for a social distancing parade. You might be wondering how they did this if they were all together, they did it in TRex blow up consumes. This hilarious dino-themed parade celebrated social distancing while still bringing together the community. Another inspirational story is about a man who devoted himself for 10 years to helping the world, successfully planting 152 million mangrove trees. If one person can do this, think about the impact of only 10 more people. To end my blog post is this last news report about kindness. The science of kindness was biological able to prove that we are all connected. We are all intertwined into a cycle where everyone's actions effect everyone else and theirs. So, with hearing these good news stories for a change, I hope that you are all doing okay and that you chose kindness is times like this.
