Lil Uzi has finally posted the release date to his newest album, Eternal Atake. This may not sound like a big deal without context, though the history behind this album is quite exciting. In June 2018 Lil Uzi Vert announced that he would drop Eternal Atake, or EA, at the end of 2018. Though, Uzi did not follow up on his promises, leaving his fans, as well as many others who heard about the hype disappointed. Although the fans were devasted, the album's popularity doubled overnight. This in part has to do with the fact that Lil Uzi Vert is one of the biggest artists out there right now, reeling in over 16 million listeners a month. Along with the best rap of his career, "XO Tour Llif3" which has over 1.2 BILLION streams on Spotify alone. What's more, his monthly listener stat number is before the drop, and Uzi is expecting a mass of new and intrigued listeners after his release of EA, according to his label.
On February 28th, of this year Lil Uzi finally announced EA will be released on March 13th, 2020. To add on some momentum to the album, Lil Uzi dropped a short film to tease at the album, ringing in over 2.1 million views in just 14 hours on Instagram. Furthermore, teasing and personalizing the album, Uzi also let the fans pick the album cover on twitter, which excited the already antsy fans and others that have caught interest in the mass amounts of hype surrounding the album. Some are speculating the biggest album turn out of the year, and fans are already concurring that as well, making this quite the 2-year journey, for Lil Uzi Vert, as well as his excited fans too.
I like that he involves his fans so much!
