As all of you are most surely aware of, the impeachment of the 45th president of the United States of America Donald J. Trump, was a failure. Democrats everywhere are disguseted and horrified that the efforts of countless campaigns have come this far, only to be rejected. All for nothing. However, this impeachment was MONUMENTAL in the history books. For even more reasons than you know. But the most important, by far, is the decision made by Junior senator of Utah Mitt Romney. He might just be what changes the world of politics for the better.

Before anyone starts involving their own biases against the republican party, just listen. Whether or not you align your self as a Democrat, Republican, green party member, or maybe you aren't politcal at all. It doesn't matter. Cast that aside for now. Mitt Romney was the first senator in history to vote against his political party. This man voted against his fellow republican and president on the accusation of article one of the impeachment. Abuse of power. Down below is the list of senators and their parties, as well as what they voted for on each article. I know it is impossible to read from here, but if you look closely, there is only one person who voted for the opposite party, and that person is Mitt Romney.

The amount of senators who remained with their party is horrifying. We only had one man who was brave enough to do what he believed in. This was further confirmed in Mitt Romney's interview after the vote. He said to a reporter, "I expect to face unimagineable consequences for my vote on the impeachment." The press are even going as far as to call him a secret democratic asset. The Truth is, he is an asset to the american people. Romney voted for what he felt was true in his heart. after this event, he did indeed face consequences as he predicted. Consequences in hate mail, threats on his life, and a decrease in his companies stock values. To be honest, it is extremely surprising that the media isn't covering this story more. Its revolutionary. But chances are, this spark in the present that could lead to a better future will be snuffed out by people who want the political party system to remain the same. Leading to a forgotten moment in time where one man took a stand for what he believed in. If only people understood how important this really was. Maybe then we could truly have a fair trial.

    I think this is such an important topic and I hope that you're right - I hope more people do what they feel is right on all accounts instead of sticking with a party simply because that's what they've always done.

          When I contemplate what is most important in my life, my mind is drawn to my 21-year-old brother, Tom. Not Fate, Just a Coincidence - Sila Paniker

The idea of fate confuses me. I don't really understand how something will happen no matter what you do. It just seems very unlikely. I think we're constantly making choices that lead to occurrences. We make so many decisions a day that it seems impossible that fate can find a way around it all.  Awhile ago, I saw something called the Butterfly Effect, which doesn't exactly relate to fate but it makes sense to me. The idea is that a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a tornado on the other side of the world. Essentially, small changes can have large impacts. In my head, this connects with the thousands of tiny decisions we subconsciously make each day.
