Odd News By: Sofia Horowitz
When I scroll through the blogposts this month it is filled with stories about the COVID-19 which is incredibly depressing. Not just the stories but how everyone is stuck at home isolated from their friends. So I decided to find some fun/odd stories that show what people are doing with their newly found freetime in the wake or quarantine.
Growing up most kids favorite game to play on their tablet was Subway Surfers maybe it still is the game is a classic. Some people may try to imagine what it woud be like to run around dodging and jumping onto moving trains. Well a man in New York City in the Bronx decided to give this a try when he took social distancing to the next level by holding onto the side of a subwar car while it was moving full speed ahead. It is unclear as to why this man decided to act like a subway surfer, but one things for sure he acted out some little kids dream.

Some people may wonder what their teachers are doing with their freetime now that they aren't in class teaching for 8 hours a day. Well this California teacher set a Guinness World Record for playing the popular video game, Just Dance, for 138 hours and 34 seconds. Imagine any of your teachers dancing to the popular Just Dance songs like no ones watching having the time of their lives. Carrie Swidecki has broken 6 Guinness World Records, and started her love of dance video games 20 years ago playing Dance Dance Revolution. She has used her love of these games to help her in her weight loss journey encouraging others to use this a fun way to loose some weight.
Chris Mann is a professional singer who got his start in the popular singing competition The Voice and placed 4th. Mann has taken his time in quarantine to use his songwriting skills in making parodies to famous songs describing his life inside. He has made a parody to Vogue, Hello, and My Sharona. My favorite is his parody of Hell which he calls Hello from Inside, his lyrics fit the tune of the music and are comical. Hes taken what is sad about being away from your friends and makes it something funny that you can enjoy watching, and most importantly he has a good voice, too. I attached the video on the side oh im singing if you want to ake a look, yo wont regret it.
