I am going to write about the only current event anyone cares about right now, the coronavirus. The whole world is on lockdown because of this pandemic. There have been over 21,000 deaths worldwide and over 1,000 in the U.S. and 68,000 reported cases. The virus was contracted when a man in China ate a bat. He had no symptoms for two weeks and then he started getting them. Even though he didn't have symptoms he had been passing the virus on for that two-week stretch. Soon enough, thousands of people in China had the virus. As more and more people got it, China was learning the effects of the virus. They learned that older people were mainly dying of it. There were growing concerns about people who had traveled to China while the virus was spreading. This is how the virus spread to other countries. People who had traveled to countries with the virus may have contracted it without knowing it. It is the same thing for these people. For two weeks they had no symptoms but were still spreading. President Donald Trump put a travel ban on the U.S. which meant you could only fly to the U.K. He soon made it so that you could fly nowhere. At the moment Italy has the most deaths due to the coronavirus at 7,503 and 57,521 have the virus. Italy has been hit the hardest by the virus and there will be more people dying of it in the coming days.
