Image result for empty shelves at targetCurrently, it feels like we are living in the apocalypse. Due to the coronavirus, almost everything has shut down. Our country has gone into a panic. Business, restaurants, theaters, bars, gyms, everything, are all being shut down to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Since no one in our county has been diagnosed yet, the whole situation still seems surreal to many people living here. We see everything closing, but we don't see the real reason why. If you ask any adult, they will tell you this is truly the first time something like this has happened. We have had deadly diseases before, but we have never gone into complete isolation like this prior to now. All schools have been shut down and we are now trying to navigate through the realm of online learning, it's new for all of us, teachers, students, parents, we are all taking a hit from this virus. As of now, the virus has only been spreading faster and further as time goes on, and no one knows just when this will stop. Our country has declared a state of emergency and we have eve been put on a restrictive curfew from 5AM to 8PM. If just seeing and hearing all of this doesn't put someone into a panic, the grocery stores will. The second you walk into the supermarket it's like you have entered an alternate universe. It's a pure zone of panic. Shelves wiped clean of basic necessities like toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and many foods, just because people are worried they might not have the luxury of leaving their houses to get these items in the very near future. The country is in a frenzy of worry and nervosity and it has only been getting worse and worse. When will this end?

    This is truly uncharted territory for all of us and it will be very interesting to see how we "restart society."

          When I contemplate what is most important in my life, my mind is drawn to my 21-year-old brother, Tom. There are not enough words in the English language I could use to describe what he means to me. I cannot imagine the past fifteen years of my life without him. Allow me to start from the beginning.           Even when I was an infant, he never failed to take me out of my crib, strap me in my high chair, and cook scrambled eggs for us (at the tender age of six). Not Fate, Just a Coincidence - Sila Paniker

The idea of fate confuses me. I don't really understand how something will happen no matter what you do. It just seems very unlikely. I think we're constantly making choices that lead to occurrences. We make so many decisions a day that it seems impossible that fate can find a way around it all.  Awhile ago, I saw something called the Butterfly Effect, which doesn't exactly relate to fate but it makes sense to me. The idea is that a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a tornado on the other side of the world. Essentially, small changes can have large impacts. In my head, this connects with the thousands of tiny decisions we subconsciously make each day. There are people I've met or things that have happened and it feels like it was meant to be but they're just a bunch of coincidences that had the ability to change everything.
