How I've Been Keeping Busy During Quarantine By Gabby Olarte

We're a little over a month into quarantine and I think the boredom and insanity has officially struck. When I first learned that we would be participating in online school and quarantining I thought it would only be for about a month. As I clearly see, I was very wrong. The question still remains, how long will this go on? There are numerous theories, some say July while others say we could be in and out of quarantine until 2022! Here are a few things I've been doing to keep busy during quarantine.
The first thing I've been doing is discovering new hobbies. I've learned that I really like to draw and create art. So I spend most of my days drawing and it keeps me busy for a pretty long time. I ordered a sketchbook off of Amazon and I've basically been sketching everyday. Another thing I've been doing is baking which I see a lot of people have been doing as well. The other day I made banana bread and it was SO good. I don't even like banana bread that much but it was amazing and I highly recommend. I also made fruit tarts which were also pretty good but not as good as the banana bread. I just simply look up recipes online and try them.
Another thing I have been doing is watching LOTS of Netflix. A few weeks ago I watched All American which is now easily one of my favorite shows. Majority of people have also watched this as it has become a very popular tv show. Another show that I recently finished was Outer Banks. This show is also becoming very popular. There were only 10 episodes so I finished it in about 2 days. I also recommend the move Nerve. It came out a few years ago and I re watched it. I think I forgot how good the movie was because after re watching it, I felt like it was better than the first time I saw it.
Besides discovering new hobbies and watching Netflix, I have been watching LOADS of Tik Toks. This goes for basically the rest of teens out there in the world too. I swear it's like a trap. It's an endless cycle of scrolling. I never intentionally stay on the app for 2 hours, it just kind of happens. Like, "Oh it 3 AM? Where did the time go?" A thing I like about Tik Tok is how relatable it is. Many Tik Toks now are about social distancing and being in quarantine which everyone can relate to.
Yes, quarantine is tough and it's difficult to not be able to see your friends. But social distancing plays a major role into getting rid of the coronavirus. My one wish is that we will still have summer.Social Distancing, Visiting Restrictions Established; Mass ...

  1. I'm not going to lie, I am worried about summer and even September...but I'm glad you found some hobbies to keep you busy during quarantine.
