RIP Sophmore Softball Szn- Alexa Acker

This year was supposed to be our comeback year for softball. Last year, I wouldn't say we had a great season (6-15), but I made friendships with people that I never would've. Mac Masternak and I (both freshman) were the two pitchers for varsity last year.

Now that we are sophomores this year, I was hoping to have a much more successful season, led by our captains Liv Bouma Hanan and Kate Esso. As of right now, the season is postponed to start on May 15th but we most likely won't have a season at all this year due to the Coronavirus. All I want is to play one game with my friends and seniors before they leave :((

While I am very upset that I will be missing my sophomore year, I am just grateful that I am not missing out on my senior year. So many memories were made last year; to name a few our bus breaking down and basically rolling backward down a hill, playing in the pouring rain, and so many more.

On a happier note, right now I am training as much as possible to play at my full potential when the season actually starts whether we are allowed to play spring for high school or playing in the summer with my club team. Also, to keep in touch and stay active with my team we have google meet workout sessions which I love because I miss seeing and talking to everyone.

I have made so many memories over the years playing softball and
I've made lifelong friends that I will never forget. I would do anything to get this season back and start playing again.

  1. I'm sorry, this is so sad for all athletes who aren't getting top play and I feel especially bad for the seniors. : (
