Lost and Found: Alexandra Gavioli

I find comfort in many things but, I easily get lost again afterwards.  They also never last long. I like to watch movies or listen to music most of the time when I need a little boost, but recently that has changed. Ever since I was little I loved to read. I read Harry Potter starting in 1st grade and my love for books grew ever since. Along the way I just lost it a little. Around 7th grade I stopped reading as much as I used to. By 8th grade my reading halted to just reading what we had to in class. It wasn't that I didn't want to read. I felt like I didn't have time for it, and I was suddenly occupied by other things. I had recently gotten a phone and enjoyed texting my friends and being on social media. This unfortunately continued to and through freshman year. I noticed that I got anxiety more often now. I got really nervous at cheer competitions, and in other situations that I used to be fine with. I had lost something but I could put my finger on it. This quartile has done a lot for me. I've found time to do so many things I've wanted to do for a while. I followed a Bob Ross tutorial. I love Bob Ross. I baked my Grandmas special cake and so many more sweets. Overall I' m so grateful for this time just to wind down. Life is often a whirlwind that I feel like I'm barely holding on to sometimes. Recently I got back into something I loved again that somehow got lost in the the temperamental weather of my life... reading. I went on Barnes and Nobles and bought a whole new series. I read the first book in a day, and the second in a day, and the third... I think you get it. I can't express to you just how happy I am now. I love reading and I completely forgot. Plus this series is amazing. I now love spending time snuggled up in my bed reading for hours. It's like time flies away. Anyways I encourage everyone  else, if your reading this, to get back into something you love. You have all the time in the world!

  1. I'm so glad that this quarantine has given you time to get back to the things you love...especially reading! What is the series? If it's that good, you have to share! Email me!

  2. I use to read all the time! In 6th grade, I read 98 books and in 7th grade I read probably about 20-40. In eight grade, I really just read the books assigned to me in school. Every year it keeps going down and down. I use to stay up late and just read. I was in the same boat as you. I was gonna get back into reading this year and buy some books that I really want to read from amazon but my mom says I can't buy books :(
