Older Friends and Early Onset Senioritis - Elizabeth DeGasperis

During the first few months of freshman year, I made the mistake of befriending only upperclassmen. All of us loved music and choir, so we meshed pretty well. But the reason why I call it a mistake is because of what's going on in my life right now. They're graduating in a bit more than a month, and I'm still here for another two years. It's hard to imagine what high school will be like without them. It also doesn't help when you don't like to live in the moment. Most times, I'm in my own little world, wondering what my life will be like in the future; I have big plans. Now that there are only two years left and the first two are pretty much done, I hope I don't mentally check out too early; I somewhat have already. I really just want to get out of here and start my life.

Also, I'm a pretty go-with-the-flow person, but that doesn't always benefit me in school. I do a lot better with a structured schedule. I don't know about you, but I don't feel like I'm absorbing any material. I wish this wasn't the case since I enjoy learning, but at least we have only 5 weeks left and no finals. Then we'll all be juniors. Between prom and visiting colleges, there's still so much to look forward to.

  1. There is much to look forward too and I bet you may even meet some friends on your grade level soon!

  2. That really stinks about your friends. My sister had the same problem too.
