First day of School. By Paxton Hilgendorff

My first day of school was exhilarating. My favorite class was History. I really enjoyed that class because of Mr. Brennan. My least favorite class would have to be math. This is because I hate math and I don't have many friends in that class. This year I was very happy to get both electives I wanted. I got intermediate photography and intermediate sculpture. I enjoy photography much more than sculpture. Also, I had a soccer game after school, but we aren't very good and we lost 6-2. It was not fun. All in all my first day was not terrible.

    I really liked history too. He seems really nice. I'm not really a fan of math either so I can see where your coming from.

    I have to agree with you. I enjoyed my History class so much! Mr. Brennan really brought history to life and kept the whole class focused intently on what he was saying. I am so glad that I have Mr. Brennan as my teacher.

    I'm really enjoying history this year as well! Typically, it isn't one of my favorite subjects but Mr. Brennan is a such a funny teacher and truly makes it interesting. I also quite enjoy photography (the art/practice, I'm not in the class) too. I wish I could have taken the class this year but unfortunately I didn't have room in my schedule.

    I like history too. It has always been one of my favorite subjects. Although I do not have Mr. Brennan, I heard he is funny and a great teacher. I hope the rest of your school year is fun.

          When I contemplate what is most important in my life, my mind is drawn to my 21-year-old brother, Tom. There are not enough words in the English language I could use to describe what he means to me. I cannot imagine the past fifteen years of my life without him. Allow me to start from the beginning.           Even when I was an infant, he never failed to take me out of my crib, strap me in my high chair, and cook scrambled eggs for us (at the tender age of six). Not Fate, Just a Coincidence - Sila Paniker

The idea of fate confuses me. I don't really understand how something will happen no matter what you do. It just seems very unlikely. I think we're constantly making choices that lead to occurrences. We make so many decisions a day that it seems impossible that fate can find a way around it all.  Awhile ago, I saw something called the Butterfly Effect, which doesn't exactly relate to fate but it makes sense to me. The idea is that a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a tornado on the other side of the world. Essentially, small changes can have large impacts. In my head, this connects with the thousands of tiny decisions we subconsciously make each day. There are people I've met or things that have happened and it feels like it was meant to be but they're just a bunch of coincidences that had the ability to change everything.
