The Upcoming School Year - Cole Anderson
While it is only the second week of sophomore year, I like it so far. My classes are decent, but a lot of my classes have upperclassmen that I don't know so sometimes it is boring. Also my friends are not all in the same level classes as me, so I do not have many classes with a ton of friends. Overall, this year is more relaxed than last year since we know the flow of things. Getting to know my teachers is something to look forward to so I have the option to go to them for help.
I am really happy that during the summer my friends and I worked on getting closer so this year school is a little better. Lunch is basically the only time I see my closest friends because I only have classes with a couple of them. Even though it is not gourmet food, one of my favorite parts of the school day is getting lunch with my group. Just waiting in the cafeteria line gives us time to talk about our day and make plans. I am trying hard to find a balance between my social life and school work since it is starting to pile up. Sometimes the workload can really stress me out so I love to hang out with my friends after school because it helps eliminate some of my stress just being with them.
Throughout this year I am going to try my best to keep my grades up because last year I struggled with that. Usually I am a big procrastinator because I am convinced I work better under pressure. However, this school year I'm going to try to get all my work done as soon as I can because I do not want to be stuck in countless situations where I need to cram. Part of the reason I get so stressed is probably because of how I procrastinate.
I also want to apply myself equally to all my classes in the future because I do not want to be more stressed in one class than the other. For instance, freshman year I didn't try too hard in physics/chemistry because I was constantly confused (I know, this makes no sense) but I tried very hard in English. I should really try my best in my science classes since I have two of them and since I might want to go into the medical field when I am older. Overall, I want to try to apply myself evenly so I can be happy (or somewhat happy) in all my classes.
I feel that if I work hard in all my classes and not just certain ones, manage to spend a lot of time with my friends, and have a positive outlook on my days in school, I can achieve a good balance. Essentially, everyone just wants to be happy with every aspect of their lives so this year I am going to try my hardest to do that.
Here is a picture of most of my work from last year. Hopefully this year we do not waste this much paper.

I wish I could see the photo! I hope you have a great year!
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you can see it now, so sorry!
DeleteI feel the same way about this year. It just has a different, more relaxed vibe which makes sense because we were all so stressed about last year. I have a good feeling about this year though and that we won't procrastinate as much. I'm really hoping I've learned from my past procrastination habits so we'll see how it goes.
