American Dream Mall By: Sofia Horowitz

You may be familiar with The Mall of America, the largest mall in America, but not only is it a mall it also contains a nickelodeon theme park inside. This means that there are multiple steamrollers/ rides and games inside the mall. This helps the company to attract more companies now that families are coming for the experience instead of shopping which most people do online. For about the past 15 years a new mall has been in the process of construction that expands upon the ideas of The Mall of America. This mall is called the American dream and only contains about 45% retail stores the rest is all an experience. 

This mall alike The Mall of America will contain a Nickelodeon theme park, but will also include an ice skating rink, ski slope, water park, movie theater, legoland, aquarium, and an area for large gatherings maybe even a concert. This mall is 3 million square feet leaving room for 350 stores and 100 different dining options. The stores are veary diverse ranging from a high end Tiffany's to a lower scale like American Eagle to attract those of all different styles. 

Having a mall with this many attractions and the size of it in general cost about 5 billion dollars to create. This money came from different sponsors in the project like Pepsico. But the overall production and financing is from the Triple Five Group and Colony Capital who own the mall and are in charge of this project. The Triple Five Group own the Mall of America giving them great knowledge on how to run this mall.

The placement of the mall was also incredibly thought out. It is not far from the city but also gets many customers from New Jersey itself. The mall is also placed in close proximity to Metlife and an entire retail area around it allowing it to draw from customers that may be in the area for a completely different reason. On the other side of this though it will cause even more traffic in the area especially during rush hour.

    I'm curious to see how this plays out. Sometimes such large entertainment spaces can become issues because so many people come in and out. I feel like everyone will want to go at least once and try it out!

    It's crazy how many large attractions they're going to fit into the mall. I wonder what traffic will be like down there with both the Metlife Stadium and the mall so close to one another.

          When I contemplate what is most important in my life, my mind is drawn to my 21-year-old brother, Tom. Not Fate, Just a Coincidence - Sila Paniker

The idea of fate confuses me. I don't really understand how something will happen no matter what you do. It just seems very unlikely. I think we're constantly making choices that lead to occurrences. We make so many decisions a day that it seems impossible that fate can find a way around it all.  Awhile ago, I saw something called the Butterfly Effect, which doesn't exactly relate to fate but it makes sense to me. The idea is that a butterfly flapping its wings can cause a tornado on the other side of the world. Essentially, small changes can have large impacts. In my head, this connects with the thousands of tiny decisions we subconsciously make each day.
