A Poem From The Perspective Of The Spider In The Corner Of My Room by Katie Groome

A true story told by a spider...

Every morning this girl gets out of bed
Looking like a bomb just hit her head

She picks out an outfit to wear
And then attempts to fix her hair

Then she scrambles out of the room
Nearly squashing me like a crazy loon

Several hours later she walks back in with a slouch
Clearly exhausted from whatever she did when she left our house

She goes back to her bed for an hour or two
What she would do next, no one knew

Finally she wakes up and runs out of the room
And when she comes back in, she makes a big boom

She falls to the ground, spilling the pie in her hand
She scrambled so fast to get back to her bed that she had a crash-land

She begins to cry because her carpet, now destroyed, was just cleaned
Sometimes she is such a dramatic and moody little teen

I decide to waddle over to comfort her
Not knowing of the fate I would soon endure

I get close to her face where there drips a tear
And as she spots me, her expression turns to fear

Now she's grabbing a tissue
And before I can process my issue

I'm squished tightly in her fist
Just like that, I don't exist

:'(

  1. That is so sad all the spider wanted to do was comfort her. Next time I see a spider I won't kill it.

  2. What was done to this spider was not right, I think this innocent spider should have been given a second chance.

  3. That poor spider but I would've done the same thing.

  5. This is truly sad... almost brought me to tears. There's a spider that has been spinning a web in my ceiling fan for something like 2 weeks but I haven't done anything to it because it's catching bugs for me and he is now my friend.

  6. This is sad from the spiders point of view
