An Ode to the Night by Mia Jardine
So basically I wrote a sonnet last year for English class (those of you who had the same class as me may remember it) and I decided to utilize it for this blog post.
An Ode To The Night
I awake in a broken-glass dream state,
While the world is deep blue and hazy.
The walls of my room bloom with shimmering nightshade,
As the moon sings me to sleep with lavender melodies.
I bury myself in a sleep mist cocoon,
And the bluebell stars begin to gleam.
My soul lays between the earth and the golden moon ☾,
And with white shattering sparks, I begin to dream.
Beautiful visions plague me; ever so fleeting,
That we bottled honey-coated stars ☆
And drank them in the evening.
As golden slumbers fill my eyes, I forget who we are.
Gilded nightshade apparitions guide me through the night; the day once but a dream.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, this is one of the best poems I've ever read. (Send my compliments to Eva too!)
ReplyDeleteThank you :). I'm really bad at writing and Eva definitely help me sculpt this piece to what it is now.
