Being Invisible by Hannah Ramos

I wake up Saturday morning at 10:00 am, and roll out of bed. I had one errand to run that day, which was just to go to the bank to take some money out of my account. I throw on the first pair of jeans I can find and a sweatshirt and go downstairs to make myself some breakfat.
Sitting on the counter is my new hat that I had just bought the day before. Excited to wear my new hat out for the first time, I rush to the mirror to see how I look in it. Standing across from my reflection, I place the hat on my head for the first time, and all of a sudden, I'm gone. My initial reaction is a screech, and I chuck the hat across the room. After seeing my reflection return in the mirror, once the hat is off, I take a deep breath. Slowly, I pick up the hat again and I try it on in the mirror, and again, I completely disappear. At this moment, I began to realize the new power that I had just obtained, and what I can do with it.
After ten minutes of putting the hat on and taking the hat off in the mirror, I decide on the adventure that I would take today. I gulf down a granola bar, hop in the car, and drive off towards the bank, with the magic hat on my head. While sitting at a stop light, I notice an old woman in the car next to mine screaming at the top of her lungs while looking my way. This only reassures me that my new powers aren't just in my head, and I'm actually invisible to other people.
I soon arrive at the bank and take my hat off and on again, to make sure that nothing has changed. After seeing myself disappear in the car mirror once again, I start off into the bank. To make sure that no suspicions are raised by any strange, super natural movement, I wait to enter behind another person entering the bank.
From there, I slowly move through the bank down a back hallway, where I wait once again and at a door with a large lock on it. As I hear someone coming my way I pin myself against the wall, until they open the door, and I follow them through. My eyes are amazed by the piles of cash on the other side of the door. The person who had let me in with out knowing went into another door and my mission began. A take the largest wad of cash I could hold and tuck it under my shirt, so it then becomes invisible too. Moving like a spy, I reopen the door and leave the money filled room.
At the end of the hallway, someone whips across the corner and my magic red hat flys off, and all the money that I had been holding, drops to the ground. This is when my first adventure with my new powers, had turned into my last. . . .

  1. I like your open ended conclusion. I also think it's funny that the first thing the character does after finding out they are invisible is to rob a bank!
