Listening to Music? Georgia Paraskos

I really like listening to music. Up until this year I never really listened to music in my free time and my friends thought I was absolutely insane. I only started when I got a ride from an acquaintance and neither of us had music to play and it was SO AWKWARD. As someone who still makes their parents talk on the phone and order food for them, the forced social interaction was one of the most painful fifteen minutes I’ve had to sit through. So I made a playlist. It started with songs my friends enjoy, and then slowly turned into a lot of stuff I found. On my own. I know. And if you’re wondering what kind of music I listen to, I don’t think anyone could sum it up into one category. If only there was a way you’d be able to listen to a few of the songs I really like. That would be convenient. Oh well.

The idea of fate confuses me. I don't really understand how something will happen no matter what you do. It just seems very unlikely. I think we're constantly making choices that lead to occurrences. We make so many decisions a day that it seems impossible that fate can find a way around it all.  Awhile ago, I saw something called the Butterfly Effect, which doesn't exactly relate to fate but it makes sense to me. I haven't formed my thoughts about this school year yet because it's only the second day but my first day was straight fire. I got to reunite with the friends and meet my teachers and all the good stuff but I did burst into tears after school because I realized that I do actually have to go back every day. Not mentally prepared yet. I may have also just started sobbing because I woke up at 5:30 a.m. but I'm sure I'll have worse states of delirium as the year progresses. In all honesty, every first day of school has been the same for me since I became a sentient being somewhere around the second grade. All of the teachers ask if I'm related to my siblings who graduated long before me and have apparently left a legacy for me to fulfill. After a bit of pondering on what story I should put on display for the topic of creative writing, I realized that my idea bank is completely dry. So, as they say, write from experience! The holidays are fast approaching, as they always are and with it, a new decade. 2020. That's a big one. When we look back in time, it seems as if everything gets classified by the decade. The '70s are groovy, the '80s are colorful, the '90s are... slimy? All I can think of is Moon Shoes and Nickelodeon-gak. And Rugrats. For some reason, our culture has always been obsessed with nostalgia. The kids that got inspired grew up, and they draw from their childhood, which then inspires the next generation, who writes about their childhood and so forth.
