Cooking by Liz Aldrich

Cooking to me is the equivalent of therapy. I love cooking my dinner every night because that has been my routine for as long as I remember. Ever since I turned about 10, I was in charge of making myself dinner lunch and breakfast. It's not because my mom never offered to make me finner, but it's because I wanted to make my own. It was a sense of accomplishment from doing something so minimal. I have always liked things a certain way and I just love eating food I make so much more than anyone else's food. It's crazy because I can make the exact same thing as someone else but to me, my version will taste so much tastier. I also started cooking because, from a young age, my sister has been interested in healthy foods. She is a super health nut and so since I grew up with her, I was conditioned to do the same. I always make myself something healthy and clean for dinner and I had so started making my own dinner if that's what I wanted. Growing u with 3 brothers, my parents always just made what was easy, if that was pizza, chili, just the basics, that I just didn't want to eat. So I was just forced to make my own dinner really, and now I am so grateful. I have gotten so comfortable int eh kitchen that when I'm cooking, I feel so relaxed, I love cooking. Cooking is just everything to me whether its how to relax or how to show my love, Whenever someone in my family is sick, I always make them food. Always brownies for my brother Joseph and pizza for William and pasta for Trish. I love cooking almost as much as I love eating the food I have cooked. But I'm glad that I love cooking because now I'm prepared for life. I will always know how to make a meal no matter what I'm given, which is a very useful skill sometimes.
