Entertainment- Bektur Totoshev
From the beginning of time, humans all across the world, of all different ages and races, have eventually faced one problem. Boredom. It hangs over people's heads like a plague, creeping into whole auditoriums slowly or suddenly striking only a couple people in a room. But, there is a cure. Because for as long as it has been claiming victims mercilessly, the human race has fought back valiantly, creating things that spark joy and interest called entertainment. And as the topic of the month is something important to you, you can already assume that this cure is something I hold dear to my heart. Maybe too close.
Entertainment comes in many different forms, from watching TV shows to rockclimbing. Skateboarding to reading. Speedwalking to splitting people's heads open (if you're a serial killer I guess). Anyways, the point is that it's ubiquitous, and depending on your interests, it can change from time to time. For me, the first things that pop up into my head when I think entertainment are TV shows and videogames, because I was raised with them. I can't really recollect a time that I didn't have either of those items, as some of my earliest memories are of playing my DS Lite, or watching cartoons while my mom tells me my eyes will be ruined if sit too close. And they've really shaped me into who I am today. My humor, my interests, my work ethic are all byproducts of some sort from the combination of those two, for better or for worse.
As I've been introduced to them at a young age, I've have sunk an ungodly amount of time into those two passions, and for good reason really. I despise being bored. Hate it with a passion. And maybe it's the result of being constantly surrounded by entertainment that I can't stand it when it eventually has to leave, but whatever the reason, it really just sucks. And so, I often rely on entertainment too much, ignoring my other problems in chase of just one more episode, just one more game. My 'NaTuRaL HiGh' if you will. But even if it can bring the downfall of me, I would rather gladly embrace the problems that come along with entertainment than accept the cold silence of boredom. In conclusion, entertainment is very important to me.

I didn't even think about entertainment as important, that's a cool concept to write about.
ReplyDeleteI like how you talked about entertainment as a whole instead of only one form of entertainment, very nice job!
