Grades by Matt Byrnes
Grades are one of the most important things for me. If I were to rank the top 5 most important things to me, it would go as(in no order) grades, family, friends, health, and the Jets/football. Since kindergarten, my mom instilled a work ethic in me when it came to school. I'll never forget it. It's the origins of why grades are important to me. I've always been a good student when it came to grades, and I plan on keeping like that throughout the rest of my academic career.
On every assignment or test that goes into the grade book, I always aim for at least a 90. A 90 is like the line between an A and B+. I don't like getting anything less than an A- because I want to be able to understand whatever I'm learning and demonstrating skills and knowledge that go above the requirements. Getting a 90 or better proves you can do that.
College along with grades is important for me. I want to get good grades because all of the assignments and tests all add up over the 4 years of high school to a GPA. Obviously, your GPA is important for getting into certain colleges. I want to make sure I have a good GPA so I can get into good colleges. Being enrolled in a good college does a lot of good for you. There are better professors and better classes. In my opinion, the degree from a better college will matter more. Most importantly though, with me getting good grades, I can have better shot at getting a good scholarship. I think that when my mom instilled the work ethic in me in kindergarten to get grades was so when it's time for college, I'll be getting a good scholarship. I mean my mom has 4 kids(including me), so getting a good scholarship will go a long way.
Overall, grades are really something that is important to me and something that I take seriously. I think that everyone should have grades as something that is important to them.

Your hard work will pay off! There's a 4th Byrnes? Where are you hiding this child?
ReplyDeleteI agree with this a lot. Grades are very important for me too and you pretty much got every reason as to why. Good work.
