What is important to me: from the perspective of others by Katie Groome
After seeing this weeks blog topic was something important to me, an abundance of things came to mind. My family, of course. My friends, my dog, school, soccer, so on and so forth. Even though I was able to quickly brainstorm many aspects of my life that are important to me, I couldn't come up with a creative way to ellaborate on any in particular. So, instead of writing about something or things important in my life from my perspective, I basically turned this blog post over to the some of the people that know me and are around me the most by asking my friends and family what they think is important to me. After asking these people, I was able to come up with a pretty accurate list (in no particular order) of what those I asked believe I value the most in life, and what they think is the most important to me.
-Soccer/Sports
A lot of the people I asked replied with soccer, or just sports in general. This is definitely true, especially since I have what my mom refers to as a "competitive streak" in me.
-Money/Wealth
Unfortunally, I do believe this one is also true. I have always slightly obsessed over the idea of being rich, and in a way made it my goal to have a lot of money when I'm older. Thinking about it now, though, having a lot of money for myself probably shouldn't be something as important to me as it has been in the past.
-School
There are a good amount of reasons why highschool is so important to me; college, success, wealth, etc. Really, though, I think trying hard in school has become more of a habitual aspect of my life, where regardless of the output of my education (wealth, employment...) I would still choose to try my best and work to get good grades, because that's what I have been doing for most of my life.
-Family
As much as I fight with my siblings and occasionally argue with my parents, my family is undoubtedly one of the most important attributes in my life, if not the most important.
-Success
No matter what I do, wether it is school, sports, playing an instrument, or anything else, I'm always determined to be succesful. Of course, a good amount of the time I'm not, but it is important to me to do the best I can at whatever I do and at least try my best to be successful.

I really liked your take on the assignment. I think it's a really cool way to see what other people think you value.
ReplyDeleteIt's cool that the people around you were able to accurately say what's important to you
ReplyDeleteYour formatting for this post was super interesting! I like how you focused on what other people thought was important to you instead of you just writing what was.
ReplyDeleteI love the format and unique way you did this month's prompt. The things you have listed I relate to, too.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you used opinions of those around you to help decide what is truly important.
