A Bucket List by Desi Tsamadias

In the midst of "writer's block" - if that's what a lack of ideas is called- I figured I would write something that I have thought about briefly and wanted to share. This is some of my "bucket list", but I probably will not put the full thing on here because I'm sure it will change and also to keep some of it personal. While I want this to be my aspirations for when I am older and some hopes and dreams, I also am going to make sure that most/some of it will be "do-able" even now, since tomorrow is not a guarantee (wow that got kinda dark... sorry). Anyway, here it is- my draft of a bucket list.

1. Graduate College (but first... highschool!)
2. Follow Jesus' steps in Israel (they call it the Jesus Trail)
3. Eat a croissant while looking at the Eiffel Tower (insert stereotypical French music)
4. Return to Africa!! (this one is at the top of my list)
5. Bungee Jumping over Victoria Falls (I’m a thrill seeker)
6. Watch the Northern Lights
7. Work at an ice cream shop (dream job right here)
8. Milk a cow (not crucial, but I feel like I have to...)
9. Get a fish pedicure (Just… so … curious)
10. Bathe an elephant in Thailand (I love elephants)
11. Learn another language (to talk to new people!)
12. Celebrate Holi in India (the festival with all the colors)
13. Adopt a kid (or maybe two)
14. Step foot in all 7 continents (yes, including Antarctica)
15. Float in the Dead Sea (that’s a lot of salt)
16. Take a hot air balloon ride
17. Become a Senior Camp Counselor
18. Teach someone how to read
20. Crash a Wedding (I’m not sure if that's allowed…)
21. Hike an active volcano (a little danger never hurt nobody)
22. Read more books (to learn new things)
23. Cook a meal from food I grew (like in the “olden days”)
24. Walk an old lady across the street (so cliche that I need to)
25. Hike through a Rainforest
26. Travel to Sri Lanka

While I (obviously) feel that it’s a cool idea to make a bucket list, I also think that sometimes bucket lists just can’t be completely fulfilled. And I think that OK! I’ve seen people who freak out over not having done everything on their bucket list, which misses the whole point of it. We should be looking at our lives in what we have been able to do for others and being grateful for all the awesome things that have been accomplished, rather than dwelling on the few that we couldn’t do. For me, this is a list of all the things that I would love if I got the chance to do them, but I know I will not be disappointed if I don’t get to do everything! Life isn’t about a list! No regrets!!!
