Living in a Hotel ~ Lauren Ambrosino

Since this month is anything you want to write about, I decided I would write about my current living situation. As of right now, the inside of my whole entire house is being torn apart and renovated. We're getting all new everything on the inside, which means we can't live there. On Saturday and Sunday I spent a total of about 10 hours taking every single thing out of my bedroom and packing it into a storage unit. It's a really long process, but will definitely be worth it in the end.
Since we can't live there we are staying a hotel for the next two weeks. It has its perks and its downsides. I'll start with the positive things. Every morning before school there's a free breakfast buffet with a lot of options. Yesterday I had a big waffle with hash browns. So, the breakfast before school is definitely a bonus. At night time they also have free dinner which I went to last night and it was OK. They also have fresh baked cookies which are actually really good. That's another thing, since we're not home we have to eat out a lot and the food is really good but I'm probably going to get sick of it soon. The hotel also has an indoor pool and a gym so I get to go swimming and workout whenever which is really nice. Some of the downsides on the other hand are the distance. I leave for school at the same time as my bus gets me, but the drive is about 25 minutes. In the afternoon it's worse because my parents have to work so I usually have to wait a little before one of them can pick my brother and me up and we can go back to the hotel. Another downside is that I don't have all my clothes, so my outfits are kind of limited to what I brought. But on the other hand, we're right next to the mall so I can go shopping. This is also kind of bad because I've been going there a lot and spending all my money so:/ Another downside is when we get back to our house it's going to be crazy to get everything back to where it belongs and finding everything.
It's a really fun experience staying in the hotel and seeing all these other people there too. The staff are really nice and welcoming. Although its really nice, I do miss my room and all my pictures so I am excited to go home to my newly renovated house in two weeks.

  1. This is an interesting experience. When we renovated, we stayed at the house (we didn't do every room) and it was very difficult to be there while it was going on. 2 weeks isn't bad though - enjoy those waffles!
