Seeing the Good Amidst a Crisis - Alexandra Gavioli
Nowadays every time you turn on the news its another corona update, and as the numbers get worse it can be easy to get in a sour mood about it. Although I think that it is important amidst this crisis that we focus on not only the bad information but the good stuff. Since this pandemic as arisen, it brought many people together and may have overshadowed some super cute stories you would have seen on the news. Therefore I am going to share with you some of my favorite, cute, and overall happy stories that could lift the mood right now.
An elephant camp in Chiang Mai is changing its ways. Previously the camp had 78 elephants carrying tourists on their back every day. The great news is for the first time in 44 years the elephants are free from the heavy chairs they were on upon their back every single day! The park is changing its business to allow the elephants to roam freely. Visitors can observe the great giants while they do whatever they want. That's definitely a win for the elephants!
It was John Elton's 73rd Birthday! He celebrated with his family and two sons in his house. Happy Birthday, John!
A New York City couple had to cancel their wedding, but it was one of the best moments of their life. The couple loves NYC and everything about it so it was fitting to have it just in that style. They pronounced their vows in the middle of the street while a friend performed the ceremony. People observed from the windows of the building while shouting and applauding. How adorable?!
One of the cutest stories is definitely centered on a senior living home that was having a load of fun. One of my favorite games as a kid was Hungry Hippos. These seniors made ita real-life game. They pushed each other in wheelchairs and used baskets to grab the balls in the middle. I highly recommend watching the video of them playing.
If you like animals as much as I do this is definitely the one for you. Many zoos are doing live streams and you can watch some of your favorite animals as they play around when no one is looking. An aquarium in Chicago is allowing their penguins to roam the aquarium and visit their friends' tanks. One of the penguins named Rockhopper is now making frequent visits to the sea otters tank. Two penguins even had a date night!
I hope everyone is doing well!
