No way! How could you possibly think that their earlier music was better! Their older music is so much better! It's more concrete! More refined!

Refined? What is that supposed to mean? Refined is not a way to judge music!

Sure it is! Undoubtably! It's not even a question!

Ok then, enlighten me! What does refined mean? More produced? More conventional? Cause if that's what you're proposing.... that's completely crazy.

It's not just that. There's more production, the production is cleaner, more elaborate. Evelyn, I tell you it's just smarter... just more refined.

So? That doesn't make it better!

Yes it does! It objectively does!

Ugh no! Their earlier earlier albums were so much more genuine! The sold themselves to fame! This refinement that you speak of is only a product of that!

So what if Death Pigeon got more popular! That doesn't negate their quality!

Yeah, it kinda does!

No it doesn't!

It's less authentic!

It's not less authentic just because they were more successful! That's ridiculous!

Death Pigeon's earlier lyrics were more straightforward. More representative. More tangible...

Jeez! What was that!

The idea of fate confuses me. I don't really understand how something will happen no matter what you do. It just seems very unlikely. I think we're constantly making choices that lead to occurrences. I haven't formed my thoughts about this school year yet because it's only the second day but my first day was straight fire. I got to reunite with the friends and meet my teachers and all the good stuff but I did burst into tears after school because I realized that I do actually have to go back every day. Not mentally prepared yet. I may have also just started sobbing because I woke up at 5:30 a.m. but I'm sure I'll have worse states of delirium as the year progresses. In all honesty, every first day of school has been the same for me since I became a sentient being somewhere around the second grade. All of the teachers ask if I'm related to my siblings who graduated long before me and have apparently left a legacy for me to fulfill. After a bit of pondering on what story I should put on display for the topic of creative writing, I realized that my idea bank is completely dry. So, as they say, write from experience! The holidays are fast approaching, as they always are and with it, a new decade. 2020. That's a big one. When we look back in time, it seems as if everything gets classified by the decade. The '70s are groovy, the '80s are colorful, the '90s are... slimy? All I can think of is Moon Shoes and Nickelodeon-gak. And Rugrats. For some reason, our culture has always been obsessed with nostalgia. The kids that got inspired grew up, and they draw from their childhood, which then inspires the next generation, who writes about their childhood and so forth.
