How Quarantine is Going by Gabby Ellrott
I think we can all agree that our lives are kinda crazy right now. We're all adapting to the new lifestyle of quarantine. Yeah there are some positives, maybe it's because I try to see those as best I can. But there are also negatives, and at this point those are starting to beat out the positives.
I miss my friends. Going from hanging out with them every single day of the weekend to not seeing them at all, is hard. Of course there's facetime, calling, and texting, but it's not the same. In the beginning, I didn't want to go back to school at all, but now I do. Seeing everyone again is going to be the best thing in the world and I think that after all of this is over, we aren't going to take the time we all have together for granted. I also miss my family. Not seeing them is also hard but seeing them again will be great.
Now positives. There's time to change things. My room, my fitness, and a bunch of other things. Maybe it's a little too much time, but we're trying to make the most of it. I'm also trying to look at how this time with family is a good thing. Yeah maybe they drive us crazy most of the time, but we're all leaving in 2 years for college. No high schooler ever has gotten this opportunity to spend this much time with their families. We may as well take advantage of it.
There are also many worries I have for the going back to school thing. Yes I do want to go back, but what if it's too soon. If we go back to normal life too soon, it could all go back to the way it was before and all go downhill. Then we would lose our summer, which can't happen. So I think that the best thing to do is to play it so carefully and maybe if we did take off for the rest of the year, it'll be worth it in the long run.
To stay positive, try saying that you "get to" instead of you "have to". It won't apply to every situation but at least some and will help you realize how much you have to be grateful for during this tough time.

Not being able hang out with friends is probably the worst thing about quarantine
ReplyDeleteI've slowly gotten used to most things about quarantine but I really miss my friends.
ReplyDeleteI also have some worries about going back to school, whenever that is. Stinks.
