List of things to do in quarantine; By Lucy Partin
So for the past month and a half, we have been in quarantine and forced to stay 6 feet apart from any other human being. This was to "ensure our safety" and stop the spread of the disease. For most people are are introverted and usually stay inside this is a very easy task. But for me, it is not. I like to talk to people and I never sit still. So this has been my worst nightmare. I always like to be busy and be doing something but this really puts a stop to my groove. So I decided for my blog post this month I would write about things to do during the quarantine.
#1: Watch Netflix
I'm guessing most people have Netflix and have already found a show that they like. Well, I suggest at this time finding a very long show that would usually take months to finish. Since most of us are already binging shows left and right it is the perfect time to start and finish that show you've been putting off. I have been watching the same show for what seems like years but since the quarantine started I have been flying through the seasons and it also helps the day pass by faster. Shows such as Greys Anatomy because it is super long (16 seasons) and Criminal Minds (12 seasons) are a few of the most popular shows to watch among teens today. I personally have watched both and now I can spot a serial killer and preform cardiovascular surgery on the spot so I highly recommend it.
#2: Face time friends
I talk to a lot of my friends basically every day. However, my friend group has done group calls where we just call, talk, and eat dinner. It is very fun and a great way to keep in touch with each other. On Thursday of last week, we planned a dinner where we would wear fancy clothing and each of us would make dinner and then have a "friends giving" over face time. Although no one dressed up and I ate ice cream for dinner it was a fun experience and I highly recommend doing it.
#3: Paint
I don't have an ounce of artistic ability in my body but painting has still been pretty fun to do. I painted shoes and jeans and coats and although they did not come out great it was very fun to do. My friend and I even painted together (on face time of course) and we made funny videos about it to look back on later. You could even watch he Bob Ross paining tutorials. He is very good but for some reason mine never come out looking like his do at the end. They are pretty long but if you have fine and the supplies I'd say give it a try and see how well you do. You might even surprise yourself.
#4: Reorganize your room
My room is pretty weirdly shaped however every few months I decide it is time for a change. This requires the help of my family when it comes to moving my bed and dressers and desk. Its fun to find new places to put your things and it also makes your room look so different and organized. Even though it is the same room the scenery change is also nice.
#5: Go outside
Although in New Jersey the weather is very unpredictable it is still a good idea to go outside. Practicing a sport or playing with a pet or maybe your sibling could help past the time of what seems like an endless day. Although we wish we still had the gullible young imaginations like we used to we can still try and find something find to do. Whether that's building tree fort or playing in the yard or even playing pretend games. Anything outside of the house that you've been trapped inside of for so long can make it feel like less of a prison sentence and more of a gift to spend time in the great outdoors.
I love the fancy friendsgiving idea and rearranging your room is always fun too! I wish this weather would warm up!!

ReplyDeleteI love Grey's Anatomy! It's definitely a commitment as it's 16 seasons but what better time than quarantine!
