Oh How Little I Knew-- By Kaleigh West
Quarantine isn't fun. We've been out of school for 40 days now, which seems like a lot, because it is a lot. But in trying to find a topic for this month's blog post, I found myself reading all of my previous blog posts in hope of finding some inspiration.
I did.
You might have forgotten about the time when our Thanksgiving break was extended by almost a week in December because of that crazy snowstorm. Yeah, we had eight straight days off of school because Thanksgiving break was followed by four snow days.
It seemed like a lot at the time.
The irony.
In fact, I thought it was so much that I decided to write my December blog post about it. Here are some of the best quotes from that post that definitely did not age well.
1. "As I sit here on our eighth straight day without school..." -- Wow, eight whole days! Crazy!
2. "It's always fun and relaxing to sit at home... I am free to do whatever I want to help relax myself in anticipation of our return to school." -- Fun to sit at home? Wow. The best part might have to be "in anticipation of our return to school". That's pretty funny.
3. "I haven't seen my friends in six days." -- I haven't seen my friends in 40 days!
4. "At this point, I am bored." -- Ha! You haven't seen anything yet.
5. "The fact that I have not had face to face communication with anyone other than my family in seven days is a bit unnerving." -- Wow seven whole days! Must be nice.
6. "In addition, it crosses my mind that it is only the first week of December and we only have two more snow days to get us through the rest of the winter, and that it looks like we may have to go to school over Spring Break." -- Wow, imagine going to school in spring period! At this point, I would have loved to go to school over Spring Break.
7. "At this point, I am driving myself crazy because I have not left my house in five days." -- Wow, you are not ready to hear about months upon months of quarantine.
8. "The things that I normally wish I have more time for, such as Netflix and Instagram, now seem like they are mocking me because they are some of the only things I can do right now." -- Yeah this is still happening, except it's even worse this time because everything on Instagram is just reminding me that I have been in quarantine for the past month, and nobody knows when it will end!
9. "To ease this thought, I think to myself that seeing them tomorrow will be even more exciting than it would have been to see them today. After all, the harder the battle, the greater the triumph." -- This is the one that I still like. Yeah, we probably won't be back in school this year, but just imagine how amazing the day will be when we can finally leave our houses, see our friends, and walk the halls of the school again. If we had gone back to school in March like originally planned, we wouldn't have nearly as much appreciation for normalcy as we do now. This will end eventually. It might take awhile, but it will end. When it does, it will probably be one of the greatest moments of our lives.

Excellent idea for a post. I love the last bit and I think it will be one of the greatest moments of our lives. Well done!
