Quarantine Thoughts- Desi Tsamadias
Soooo... I definitely did not ever think that the Coronavirus would be this big of a deal, or ever affect me in the personal ways that it has. And I don't think anyone expected school to be cancelled, the economy to basically be shut down, everyone having to stay 6 feet apart, wearing masks all the time, mass deaths, etc. I believe that this quarantine can be used for good things, even in the midst of all of this complete and utter chaos surrounding us- also it's completely crazy that we're living through a part of history that will be remembered for a long time after this!!! Anyway, here are some of my "quarantine thoughts"/ Day in my Life.
First, some things that have really helped me during this quarantine. Number one on my list has to be talking to friends over Zoom, Facetime, text, and even a simple Snapchat, which can help me feel a little less like I'm all alone. Another thing I've been doing is thinking about all of the things I have been wanting to do for a long time, but "haven't had the time" in the past. Guess what- we have all the time in the world right now- so just do it! I would recommend trying to get your splits, learning an instrument off of youtube, trying to perfect your baking skills, rearranging your room or painting something cool like vinyl records or old sneakers or something. A close second has to be hiking! Just go outside and start walking through the woods (seriously), it's the closest thing we have to going out right now, and it's pretty sweet to be out in nature. This quarantine I have hiked more trails than I can count and I'm so glad we live in an area where we can hike and be in nature. I've even been able to watch the sunset in my hammock, in the woods, which I highly recommend instead of giving yourself a bad haircut.
A typical day in the life for me right now looks a lot different than normal routines that I have, but I'm sure that's the case with anyone else during this time. Here is a little explanation of a day in my life. I usually wake up anywhere from the 8-9:30 range, depending on how tired I am. I get out of my bed, and first thing I do is feed my 4 whining ducklings who kept me up half of the night because they stay right outside my room. Then, I make some lemon water and fruit for breakfast and start my work as early as I can, which usually takes me a while to complete. I take lots of breaks to either run, watch a show, walk around my house, play with ducks and my dog or do something else random. This is excluding the days where I go hiking for the whole day and finish my work at 1 am. Anyway, next I eat lunch which might be eggs, a sandwich or a salad. After lunch is when I lose steam a lot of the time, so I leave the rest of my work to do later and I'll go hiking, running, or taking the ducks outside to play. Later on, around 6:30, my family eats dinner together which has been prepared by a different kid each night, as per my mom's new dinner plan that she created... After dinner we will watch a movie or I will go to finish the rest of my work or maybe facetime my friends. So, that's pretty much a day in my life. On a happy note, I'm pretty stoked for the trails to reopen this weekend! Also, there might be a medicine that is helping patients with the virus- there are still things to be joyful about!

I'm not going to lie, I love your Mom's dinner plan. Maybe I should try that because I'm tired of cooking!
