My Hair :/ - Cole Anderson

Here comes the longest and most boring story. Last November, I dyed my hair black. CVS didn't have any temporary hair dye, so I just bought permanent. I liked my black hair until about a month ago - I got sick of it and it was just too dark for spring and summer. So, I bought hair color remover and put it in and had to take a 30-minute shower to rinse it out. It really didn't work. The parts that had grown out since I had dyed it were more exposed and lighter, but most of the ends were still almost black. So, the next day, I did the color remover again and this time I rinsed it out for almost an hour - I almost fainted in the shower - since the box said the more you rinse it out, the better the results. When I dried my hair, I was mad because it was barely any lighter. The ends of my hair were still fully black, and then it got a tiny bit lighter until my roots, which were ver light brown now (I'm not sure why hair dye remover made my natural hair lighter, but not much worked like it should in this process, so whatever). So, now that my hair was both black and brown, I dealt with it for less than a week. One day, my mom called me and said she was going to CVS and asked if I needed anything to deal with my hair. I just told her anything to make it lighter because I was so sick of having black hair.  She came home with light brown dye and it said it would make dark brown hair much lighter (light brown) so I thought it would be perfect since my hair was pretty much just dark brown as a whole at this point. So, I put the dye in my hair and waited a little longer than what the box recommended because I really wanted this to work. Once I waited and rinsed my hair out, I was ready to dry it and see if this actually worked this time. I thought it would, since it was literally hair dye. However, when I dried my hair and looked in the mirror, I was so surprised. The roots of my hair were a light brown but they were tinted orange and the ends of my hair were still black. I didn't know why nothing was working with this black hair dye. So, I dyed it again since I had only used half the bottle of dye. This time, I left it on for double the recommended time to really make sure it worked. So, while I waited for this hair dye to set into my permanently black hair, I played with all my pets. After that, I washed out my hair again and dried it. Now, most of my hair is very brown with a little red tint to it, which I don't like but it's not the worst. But, the ends of my hair are still black. I'm not sure what to do now - if you want to give me advice on what I should do, please do (I can leave it half black half brown, I could bleach it a little, or do something else, I don't know). There's my treacherous story about my hair (PSA: don't dye your hair black if you don't want to wait for it to grow out). Also, happy end of the school year, bye.

My hair kind of be looking like this now that I cut it. Just imagine brown at the roots and then black at the ends and the cut is almost straight across my forehead. 😭

  4. I say rock it the way it is and turn it into a trend. As soon as quarantine is over I'm going to my hairdresser and saying "Jennifer, do this on my head," while showing her the picture attached.

  6. This post made me smile, imagining you dealing with this! The hot summer is coming, so I say cut it short and start over! It grows fast!
