Ranting with Mel

I know this is past midnight technically, but I honestly forgot about the blog post for May.
It just feels like everything is out of whack. The world is going through a pandemic, there are riots on the streets, and nothing is going right. Everything is just wrong, and I need a good rant. I think everyone deserves a good rant right about now. I have become so antsy, and can barely sit still (not like i couldn't sit still before). But the point is, ....

THE WORLD IS CHAOS!!!!111!!!!1!11!1
I've been trying to pass the time watching netflix and bingeing shows. I've been drawing more, and writing music. (I've also become obsessed with Katya Zamolodchikova, a drag queen who is absolutely insane)
But still, it seems like a new bad thing is happening every day.
We have a deadly virus, murder hornets, rising rates of depression, anti-racism movement and riots, etc, etc, etc.
I think it might just be the beginning of the apocalypse. ~the beginning of the end~
Everything is just out of whack
on top of everything that's happening in the world, i have some of my own personal issues regarding mental illness. I also have someone trying to crawl back into my life again after over a year and a half. Someone who broke my heart so badly, and now i don't know how to react. But apparently im being invited over to meet their new pet. I don't think it's the best choice to go, but honestly i've been so impulsive recently, it's not even funny. It's hard to control my emotions and actions.
My friend thinks I'm manic. I think he's crazy.
Anyways, if anyone else needs to rant, please do so in the comments. I hope everyone is doing ok during these tough times, and I'm going to miss these silly blog posts every month

The idea of fate confuses me. I don't really understand how something will happen no matter what you do. It just seems very unlikely. I think we're constantly making choices that lead to occurrences. We make so many decisions a day that it seems impossible that fate can find a way around it all.  Awhile ago, I saw something called the Butterfly Effect, which doesn't exactly relate to fate but it makes sense to me. I haven't formed my thoughts about this school year yet because it's only the second day but my first day was straight fire. I got to reunite with the friends and meet my teachers and all the good stuff but I did burst into tears after school because I realized that I do actually have to go back every day. Not mentally prepared yet. I may have also just started sobbing because I woke up at 5:30 a.m. but I'm sure I'll have worse states of delirium as the year progresses. In all honesty, every first day of school has been the same for me since I became a sentient being somewhere around the second grade. After a bit of pondering on what story I should put on display for the topic of creative writing, I realized that my idea bank is completely dry. So, as they say, write from experience! The holidays are fast approaching, as they always are and with it, a new decade. 2020. That's a big one. When we look back in time, it seems as if everything gets classified by the decade. The '70s are groovy, the '80s are colorful, the '90s are... slimy? All I can think of is Moon Shoes and Nickelodeon-gak. And Rugrats. For some reason, our culture has always been obsessed with nostalgia. The kids that got inspired grew up, and they draw from their childhood, which then inspires the next generation, who writes about their childhood and so forth.
