Why You Should Watch "Avatar: The Last Airbender" Plus a Tier Ranking Video - Kayleigh Simpson
Recently, "Avatar: The Last Airbender" was put back on Netflix, and I BEG you to watch it. I initially watched this show when I was really little and it really shaped who I am now. Not only is the show incredibly entertaining, but it's also packed with a bunch of really important lessons. Sure, it was made for little kids, but I think that the show could be enjoyed by anyone! Plus, Netflix is making a live-action version of Avatar that will probably be amazing!
Here's where I embarrass myself... As I said before, I watched this show when I was really little. I was probably somewhere between 6-8 years old. Not only did I watch this show, but I also embraced it as a part of who I was (and still am, to be honest). My neighbors and I literally thought we were Avatars ourselves. We would spend hours exploring miles into the woods and pretending to fight like heroes! When I look back to when I was little, the memories I had from training to be the Avatar are by far my favorite. I spent pretty much all of my free time from 3rd to 7th grade learning fighting stances and pretending to "waterbend" in the lake.
To humiliate myself further, I've decided to include a bulleted list of things I did as a kid, inspired by Avatar:
In short, please watch Avatar, it's really good.
On another note, I thought it would be really fun to make a video where I ranked the characters in "Avatar: The Last Airbender". So, if you have seen Avatar feel free to watch it! If not, watch the show and then come back and watch it and see if you agree with my opinions!

- My friends and I would find really good sticks and would use them as staffs. We would then LITERALLY fight each other with them for training. (This sounds really scary and unsafe, but I swear it was so much fun)
- I would run around outside barefoot so I could "earthbend".
- I live pretty much on a lake, so my neighbor and I would walk down to the sand, IN PUBLIC, and practice fighting stances/forms (we probably looked so dumb omg).
- We would build "tribes" in the woods. They were actually really cool and sturdy. We built a bunch of teepees and huts all out of sticks and vines! We even used some of the stone walls in the woods as shelters.
- This was a little later on, maybe 7th grade, but we found these branches that were super flexible and made bows and arrows out of them and would practice our aim and stuff. That was so much fun!
